Nature and it's funky phenomenon at dawn

Dawn seems to be a time when nature and science play together to create unique landscapes. What struck me this morning as I looked towards the sunrise over the hold was this funky wisp of something that seemed to be suspended vertically between the sky and the hill. I initially thought it was a wisp of smoke, but it wasn't rising or moving at all - and it's too high to be smoke. Maybe it's just a funky cloud in the sky. Or I could put a conspiracy theory and say that it's aliens landing!
