I've just been to the little Tesco again.

Mum took a long time writing her list and I thought I wouldn't be back in time for Homes Under the Hammer! I wore my grey coat without the hood and my gloves. I walked really fast on the way there and back. I got 2 TV magazines as usual, and then I got a bag of assorted flavour crisps and some salt and vinegar flavour Pringles. (They are crisps.) Then I got a bounty bar for my step-dad, a little box of cakes and a packet of ginger nut biscuits for me. I got four lemons for me. The reason being my step-dad needs to get his gear box checked in his car on Wednesday, which means we won't be able to go to the big Tesco, we're probably going to go on Thursday instead. Which means I'll have to have my fish dinner on Wednesday instead of Thursday and get my prawn layered salad to have on Thursday instead of Wednesday. And as I usually get my lemon from the big Tesco on a Wednesday, ready for my fish dinner on the Thursday, and we're going to the big Tesco on the Thursday instead of the Wednesday, it will be too late if I get the lemon on the Thursday if I'm having the fish dinner on the Wednesday! And I usually get a single lemon from the big Tesco, but they only had bags of four in the little Tesco so I had to get four. Did you get all that? Then I got 4 pears, some strawberries and some blueberries for me, because I usually get the blueberries from the big Tesco on a Wednesday too. Mum wanted some mayonnaise but they only had salad cream, and she wanted me to get some gherkins for my step-dad but they only had anchovies so I didn't get either of those. I got some sugar free Alpen for my Mum, 2 bottles of milk and some soy milk with no added sugar for me. Then I went and paid. When she asked me if I had a club card I got it out and dropped it on the floor! It took me ages to pick it up with my gloves on! I rushed back home again and I got home just after 11:00am which means I had approx 14 minutes to put everything away, take my coat, gloves and shoes off, change my socks and sit down ready to watch Homes Under the Hammer! I just made it! How is your day going so far? I hope you are all well. Have a nice day.

@sharonelton I share @fleura ‘s initial confusion but all is clear now. I dislike it when supermarkets dictate how many items of fruit or veg I must buy. I prefer loose items to netted clusters.

Yes, I agree with you. If you use 1 lemon a week and you have to get 4 you don't want them going off before you get to use them. Although I think lemons have got quite a good shelf life. Other things might not.

Most of it. I just couldn't get the mayo and the gherkins. I'm not feeling too good today. It's that time of the month and I've got a splitting headache! Thank you very much.

When I first read 'I got four lemons for me. The reason being my step-dad needs to get his gear box checked' I wondered what you need to do with a gearbox that requires lemons I got some shopping first thing this morning so I could put chilli in the slow cooker. But when I got home I realised I had left my little trolley token in my trolley

Make sure you read the whole thing before jumping to conclusions! I bought a slow cooker for my Mum for her birthday once but she's not used it in ages! Sorry you left your trolley token in the trolley.

@sharonelton We use ours quite often, though I do like a break now and then because otherwise you can start to feel that everything has the same texture. It is nice to come home to dinner ready though! I'm a bit p'ed off about the token, it was so stupid because I was distracted by the free magazine that was there and I picked one up even though I didn't really want it that much!

@Fleura I'm trying to get my Mum back into using hers. I even got her a slow cooker cook book as a hint! It's easy to do things like that when you're distracted.

Thank you very much and it's my pleasure. We didn't go to the big Tesco yesterday because my step-dad took his car to the garage to have his gear box checked, so we're going this afternoon instead.
