13 December - What I'm Thankful for Today

Today was a very good day.
I'm thankful for the seven hours of sleep I got last night without getting up once. That's rare.
I'm thankful I got the laundry done this morning. And I'm thankful I spent time with my son while doing laundry. I was trying to read a book in the car when he slammed his hands into the window and woke me up, scaring the bejeebers out of me. I then spent a most enjoyable couple of hours with him at his girlfriend's apartment with her father as we played Rummy. They play to a thousand and you can deal out any number of cards you want 3,5,7,9,11, or 13. I tried dealing with only three. My son went out quickly and won that hand. Did I win? NO, but I had a lot of fun.
I'm thankful I took toys to the television station doing Toys for Tots. I bought too many toys and took them there for the toy drive. I know someone will enjoy them.
I'm thankful I went shopping after taking the toys to the television station. I was out of bananas and with bad weather coming, I wasn't about to wait until the weekend before getting bananas. I might need more by then. We'll see.
I'm thankful for the time I could spend here with you and find out about your day.
I'm thankful for the beautiful gift from my Secret Santa - a Christmas hand towel and hot pads. I thought the soap I got yesterday was from my Secret Santa. If it was, I got two presents this week. I think the soap was from someone, not my Secret Santa.

I am grateful that a repairman came to my relatives home to do some much needed kitchen repairs of the microwave and regular oven. Plus my computer has been updated today.

The weather was not fun, but I am thankful it didn't rain today. Or rather that it rained before we left. We had to take the cat to the vet, and he was very vocal about having his nails cut. But, I'm thankful that's all it was. Some vocalization.
