Hi guys, Hope you all are doing good. I am doing well too. Many of the days celebrated in the world we don't have any clue of, one such day is "National Re-gifting Day". Re-gifting day was mostly seen as an office holiday before 24th October, 2008, which was the day that the state of Colorado declared December 18th as "National Re-gifting Day". The origin of the holiday came from office workers who were given gifts that they didn't really want but didn't want to throw away, so they re-gifted their presents to someone who would want it and make good use of it. However, the idea isn't implemented today as people pass on gifts to others without much thought which they had got from someone on different occassions. In India too this Re-gifting is almost done by everyone during festivals. Many times people forget to remove the labels. It must be so embarassing for people sending it and humiliating for person receiving it. I somehow don't like this concept. I believe one should invest little time and thought when gifting others rather than just passing on the gifts. If one isn't able to take out time, one can always give Vouchers, Coupons or money to others so that they can buy anything they need of their choice. I don't get much gifts nor give much gifts. If i have to gift someone i make it a point to invest time and thought to gift someone preferably a personalized one to make them feel special. The idea of giving gifts is to make someone feel good, special, give what they need rather than giving random stuff. Let me know your thoughts about it. Have you received re-gifts or re-gifted to others. Have a good day!! Take care!!

The gifts I receive for my birthday are well-thought gifts from close friends. I never re-gift to others. However, during Chinese New Year, most of the gifts are sweet things like chocolates, biscuits. Re-gift is common.
