In winter my mother make pathisapta.

In calcutta there is another variety of jaggery or gur comes up in winter called nalin gur. It means new jaggery. that is used by my mother and coconut is used to make a food called pathi sapta. In winter it taste good.

I just made laddoos yesterday using rice flour (made at home) jaggery and coconut with a touch of cardamom and raisins

Yes, my mom also makes patishapta and pithe puli. Maybe she will make it in the next month.

thanks Jojo you are right there is a festival in Bengal called Ganga Sagar Mela and Poush Parbon. the pithe puli and pathisapta becomes very tasty at that time
