There is no point questioning dress of fictional characters in films.

Deepika Padukone and Shahrukh Khan starrer film Pathan is supposed to be released in January. There is a song "besharam rang" where the actress wore a saffron dress. There is meaningless protest by some section in India about boycotting the song just because the colour is related to a religion. Shahrukh Khan came in International film festival in Calcutta and said for fictional characters there is freedom of expression. There is no point having that freedom if creative arts are stopped without reasons.

People need to look past their prejudices and enjoy the movies and the characters they play. The only time I object to clothing in movies is when it doesn't represent the era of the movie. If it's well-represented for the era, there's no point in protesting the clothing of the actors.

Things are getting complicated when people look through magnifying glasses anything that "might" offend someone. Lately I have heard about banned films because they depicted a society of centuries ago.
