Star – Jake Gyllenhaal My Rating *** Genre – Action Run Time – 2 hr 16 Minutes. Certificate – 15 Country – U.S.A Awards – 10 Nominations = = = = = = = = = = = = = = So the pandemic hit and lot of actors were suddenly out of work and important projects put on hold. When things restarted some actors had clearly signed up for something that wasn’t suited to their careers, perhaps in desperation, clearly the case with Jake Gyllenhaal here. Post the brilliant first Transformers movie, director Michael Bay had surrendered to making very dumb and formulaic action movies for millions of dollars – for him and for the budget. The Ambulance is right at the top of the pile of his cannon so far. ===Cast=== • Jake Gyllenhaal as Daniel "Danny" Sharp • Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as William "Will" Sharp • Eiza González as Paramedic Camille "Cam" Thompson • Garret Dillahunt as LAPD Captain Monroe • Keir O'Donnell as FBI Agent Anson Clark • Jackson White as Officer Zach • Olivia Stambouliah as LAPD Lieutenant Dhazghig • Moses Ingram as Amy Sharp • Colin Woodell as EMT Scott ===The Plot=== Hotshot bank-robber Danny Sharp (Jake Gyllenhaal) is teaming up with his brother Will (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) for the next big job, a Wells Fargo in downtown L.A. Meanwhile superhot paramedic Camille "Cam" Thompson (Eiza González) is out in her ambulance when her crew is called to an emergency near the bank. The robbery goes wrong, people get shot, the cops turn up and her ambulance is high-jacked. Two hours later the ambulance is still being chased. ===Results=== The biggest fault - of many - is this film is way too long. It feels like we are in the ambulance racing around Los Angeles for ever. Although no exploding police helicopters there are plenty of cop cars flipping over and that predictable Michael Bay bombastic over the top acting in spades. The signature beautiful girl, Eiza González, is out of place and distracting in an ambulance, as is Gyllenhaal is in a roll you take at the back end of your career. The dialogue is clunky and the action cheesy - and the ambulance never stops for gas. It feels like the script was written on the set and the actors knew it wasn’t going to be that kind of movie so little effort required. It really is one to miss how ever hyped up it is on your streaming service. Speed with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock this isn’t…. ===RATINGS=== Imdb.com - 6.1/10.0 (72k votes) Rottentomatos.com –69% critic’s approval ===Trailer=== https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4998632/

Yeah, it sadly sounds like a typical Michael Bay movie. Did it have too much orange and teal in the shots too? That seems to be a trademark of his.
