Hey there, everyone. I hope you’ve all been doing well. I originally was going to write one post for Christmas Eve and Christmas, but it was lengthy, so I split them up. Welp, after 2yrs of dodging it, Covid finally got my household earlier this month. Luckily, we were all good to go by the time Christmas Eve arrived. I wasn’t able to get out and finish my shopping before Christmas Eve because of being in isolation. Man, it was so cold, I was ready to isolate all over again lol. But anyway, I had to spend a little more than I had wanted to, but I was able to finish everything by Christmas Eve. Oh, and I picked up Christmas Eve gifts for my dogs (my sister and brother-in-law take care of the cats’ presents). Giving my dogs their toys is one of my favorite parts of Christmas Eve. I usually give them the toys on Christmas Eve, when it’s less chaotic, and a treat on Christmas. :) A family tradition with my parents was everyone got one gift on Christmas Eve. There was never a running theme. It could be fuzzy socks one year and a CD the next. When Dad passed, I continued the tradition with my Momma, and we eventually switched it over to snacks. With Momma gone, my older sister and I continue the tradition ourselves. I got her a big pack of Twizzlers and she got me some Andes peppermint candy. I think I opened the candy in 2.5 seconds lol. I LOVE Andes candies. They put a toffee pack in my stocking, and I finished off my cherry Andes last week. Anyway lol. My wrapping and stocking stuffers were finished by that evening, so I didn’t need to stay up super late taking care of any of that. Of course, I also watched one of my favorite holiday movies, “The Ref” - starring Denis Leary, Kevin Spacey, and Judy Davis. We also had pizza for dinner because it was just easier. It’s rare anyone ever comes over on Christmas Eve (sometimes they go to my brother-in-law’s Mom, but he doesn’t want to while people are getting over being sick). Christmas Eve is usually for last-minute preparations or shopping trips with us, other than their trip to my BIL’s Mom’s house. So, that was my Christmas Eve. I was able to leave the house again, though the cold caused me to only leave it ONCE because it was definitely feeling like winter. I was able to get some rest with my dogs and finish preparing for the holiday itself. Okay, let me go post about Christmas now. :) Photo Credit: Pixabay.

It's no fun being sick, or cold. Christmas and Christmas eve were cold down here, too. I don't blame you for wanting to retreat. I know I was feeling it, and figuring out on the fly how not to freeze while being able to move.

Nope, definitely not. I went from "Yay! I can leave the house" to "I'm never leaving the house again" lol. It's a little better now, but that weekend was definitely cold.

@kaylachan It's been in the upper 50s and 60s for the last few days, but it's also been cloudy and rainy. I cannot wait until spring. I like it cold for Christmas, and Christmas is over lol. I CAN wait for summer though.

I hope you are all well now, It seemed since all I did was watch Christmas movies that Christmas Eve came and went before I even saw it, Plus it was very cold here and so I sat in my front room by my little heater and that helped some,

I still have a lingering cough, but I've tested negative for Covid. My doctor gave me a prescription for my cough, which I started today. Thank you! Oooh, which movies did you watch?
