Film Review M3gan Spoilers M3gan, or Megan, or Mthreegan, or Megan 3, is a really good addition to the killer doll genre, with obvious nods to the Child’s Play franchise, as well as AI (Artificial Intelligence), Terminator and Aliens. It chucks in some very sharply scripted digs at crass advertizing, marketing, over dependence on tech, and bad patenting, especially leaving the child in the company of electronica amounting to negligence. It isn’t as gory as the Child’s Play stuff, and cranks up the tensions well, with a likable cast. It does rend to foreshadow things to come rather too much. It is pretty obvious what use BRUCE will be put to later as soon as he is introduced. M3gan is brilliantly created by a combination of acting and puppet work, and a genuinely scary screen presence even when she’s being nice. Will the sequel be called M4gen? Arthur Chappell
