I forget when I am cooking something

When I cook, I usually set it on low fire. Then I'll do something else and get back at it when I'm done. But I do tend to forget about that totally when I do something. Because I'll find lots of things I need to do very important that can't wait. I'll be very focused on it that I won't be able to get back to cooking. Just like now, i get back the food is burnt though not badly. I was still able to scrape the burnt easily and washed it off easily. Then I started cooking it again, this time I made sure to watch over it.
I just realize that I'm not very forgetful. It's just that I'm too busy. I've realized if I need to do something important that I should not cook at all and leave it cooking while attending to something else. Like i needed to make important phone call to a company. that i keep waiting for an answer and lots of time needed to listen patiently to their answering machine. Till i lost to what I'm doing. And with all the important notes I need to ask by the phone.

I have the same problem. I have too much to do. I can’t do anything else when I am cooking or I forget about the food and burn it.

Yes, it's hard to cook when busy with other things

I think you should be more careful one day you will find a burnt offering in your pot
