Cement ship pier on Seacliff beach to be demolished later this month

The winter storms in Santa CruzCounty damaged a lot of structures , including the historic pier that is attached to the Cement ship. Saturday there is a farewell ceremony for the pier, which is popular with tourists.The ship was built for WorldWar I but the war ended before it could be used. It was then used for entertainment. Until the end of the 20th century, beach goers could walk on the ship.
