My husband has been telling me that my son, Joey, has been talking to him a lot lately about his diabetes. Joey has now been trying to think of different ways to help him control it and has really been pushing a diet change for us all because of it. At 9, this was not something I was even ready to deal with. They talk about old souls and I really understand the meaning of it now. He is wiser than his years. What is something that makes your child have a heart of gold?

Well my son is grown now but deep down he has a good heart. He has always stuck by me through thick and thin. I am sorry your son has this but he seems he is a great son!!

I agree that some children are more emotionally mature than others. Apparently your son belongs to this group of people. I don't know him, but I think he's a great boy.
