Hi Mylotter friends. Sorry I haven't been on in a few days. Between long work days and dealing with a seasonal migraine headache for the past couple of days, it's been a long work week, and I know I need to do some catching up this weekend, (my first of having three back-to-back weekends off). Since I'm halfway through week 6, I thought I would update you all on last week's happenings at Goodwill.
Last Monday was the same donation purge day, when we purged clothes from gaylords and blue bins, and then put them into a salvage box. All wares are taken out for inspection. Nothing really special since it's a frequent activity every week to purge and/or sort clothing all shift long.
Last Wednesday, I only cleared 1.65 bins, and am still getting closer to the two bin mark for my goal. I kept on going faster with sorting clothes into the keep and salvage piles.
Last Thursday, I also cleared 1.65 bins and picking up more speed as I go along. Ir could be very tiring from time to time.
Last Friday, I've gotten even closer at 1.75 bins. If I didn't have Good Academy e-learning for an hour, I would've nailed my goal right on the nose. But this was good as it was going to get for now.
And last Saturday, I've also gotten 1.75 bins cleared, but it's a good goal as I inch closer every shift. One of these days, I would get it done and celebrate.
My brother, father, and Danielle, were all concerned about my Social Security benefits since I've starting part-time work. I've called them last week and even this week. I was told I'm fine since my biweekly earnings won't go over the threshold of $1470 every month. So I won't lose everything, which is quite a relief.
And my schedule for the next two weeks are a bit wonky, since it feels like I'm working 5 days out of week with two days off, and not four days a week with three days off. Danielle's going to look into it by calling them or visiting Goodwill to get it straightened out. I know I have this weekend off (even 1 hour on Sunday for the meeting), next weekend off (I'll be volunteering at the zoo for both events to take new photos), and the following weekend off (possibly 3/26 is off, since I work the Sunday in the week before.) As soon as I hear back from Danielle, I'll let you know and give you an updated bridge support report on the latest.
That's about it for now. I'll do my recipe report card and March recipe list over this weekend. See you tomorrow afternoon.

The clothes in the salvage bin are recycled. This snippet is from an online article: Recycle and Salvage
Finally, if donated items are still not sold (or if they don’t meet Goodwill’s quality standards in the first place), we find ways to recycle or salvage them and give them a new life. As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, Goodwill organizations work with recycling partners to divert millions of pounds of reusable materials from landfills each year! So, even if you have clothing items that are slightly damaged, don’t throw them in the trash. You can still donate them to Goodwill and contribute to a more sustainable community.

I am sure you will hit the 2 bins sooner or later. I would be all tuckered out if I was you.
