I saved a comment to a youtube video which says not dreading Monday waking up in the morning happy and excited about life is the real success, not the luxurious life and expensive cars. I hope to one day have that feeling. But for now, I am still buying some buy it for life (BIFL) items. Examples are durable shoes, quality wardrobe, and jewelries. I also buy 6 months worth of food staples and house supplies during bonuses. It just makes me feel secured that I have the things I need. I have a 300sq m piece of lot and I hope that it will appreciate in value in the future. Eversince I learned not everyone cant rely on a partner is when I decided to be independent and learn to take good care of myself and my daughter. Once she graduates in 3 years it will ease up my finances even more. I am inspired by mylotter Sojourner in having delicious but very affordable meals. I think I will be fine if I live frugally.

Sometimes saving motivational comments or videos can motivate us to be successful too.

That is very true. I watch Shawna Ripari on no buy year and contentment challenge.

@Adie04 To be honest I would have loved to do what she advice but the world is not normal now. With the currency crisis going on, I think saving is not enough.

You must have a lot of space to store 6 months' worth of food and house supplies.

I dont have that much space. I cleared out under the kitchen counter and put dishwashing liquid and powdered soap there. We cant stock up on perishables like meat so I am planning on raising chicken.

I tend to live fairly frugally. Except when it comes to stereo gear and musical instruments.

I know that's your thing. I love good quality sound, maybe that's another BIFL I ought to buy first.

You are doing very well. Even if you have a partner, do not depend on them fully

Life is not easy for everyone. Sometimes we make wrong choices that lead us to difficult lives. We work on what we have.

You saved a comment on YouTube that talks about success not being about luxury, but about living a happy and inspired life. You also mention buying things that can last a lifetime to feel secure. You are inspired by living modestly and taking care of yourself and your daughter.
