It's well past 12 at night now,and it's time for me to overthink.Just thinking that in this modern era of materialistic world,where everyone is running for fame,money and there is very less time for people to share with their loved ones.selfless/unselfish love exists.I have no idea what is such kind of love may be equivalent to a mother's love for her child;
does such love exists still between couples now?

No no... It is an utopia.
I hardly see selfless love.
Some or the other motive, mostly materialistic or ego / proud comes into play.
In 99 % of cases, once there are financial challenges, love starts taking backward steps.
So better try not to think that far....

Well, a few things might be on the overlap of selfless and selfish motives.
And this is a very tricky question as well !!

I think that it still exists. Many a times our expectations from any relationship is too unrealistic and unreasonable. And that can be a recipe of disaster.

@tom_view Yes, it is. Life is full of flaws and so are relationships.

It still exists. Just not as much as it used to.

The joy one gets loving someone shows there can never be selfless love.

Yes, it does. I see it every day in my husband while I'm dealing with cancer.

I know stories of many persons ranging from sports to business personalities who mention that staying away from home for long periods of time takes a toll on them mentally.
They also go on record saying that it does hurt them not spending quality time with their loved ones hurts them.
