Day 254 (Psalms 126:1-6) (A Song of Ascents.) When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then laughter filled our mouths and our tongues with singing. Then they said among the nations, “The LORD did great things for them.” The LORD did great things for us, and we are glad. Bring back our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. Those who sow in tears will reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, will doubtless return with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. When things go bad, you hope for better days. Many musicians recorded songs of hope as they looked forward to better days. Nothing lasts forever. The psalmist is in captivity, dreaming of the day when he will return to Israel. He longs for the day laughter and singing will once again be on his tongue. Then he will be glad and rejoice. As Christians, your hope is in God and His promises to bring you out of trouble. Though people mock you because of the trouble facing you and tell you God won’t help you, you know He will. Your faith in Jesus Christ is built on God’s promises of protection and deliverance. You can look back as the psalmist did and see how God helped you. You can be glad and rejoice because your tears are seeds of rejoicing. You will see good days again because Jesus is your salvation. He released you from captivity the moment you accepted Him as your Savior and Lord. What trouble faces you? Stop dreaming about deliverance, stand on the promises of God’s deliverance, and you will rejoice again and shout for joy, laughing and singing about how He brought you through. Your tears are seeds. You will bring in a harvest of joy when God delivers you from Satan’s schemes. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for your promises of protection and deliverance from Satan’s schemes. When trouble comes my way, bring Your promises to my remembrance, so I can rejoice and shout for joy at what You will do for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. @just4him I wish I could be as open and trusting as I'd like to be.
