In major tea gardens in Bhutan zafran is cultivated along with tea

Zafran is a lovely spice cultivated to give flavour in biriyani dishes. In Bhutan more than 30 per cent of the land are filled with tea gardens. In the tea gardens there is lovely zafran plants also. In India it is called kesar. The advantage is that the combination crops maintain the fertility of soil.

This is a spice I would like to try. Combining the two is a very good farming method.
