Drake University students raise money for a lunch lady battling cancer

Drake University lunch lady Marietta Jackson who is described as the mother away from home to the Drake students is battling ovarian cancer is grateful that her kindness toward the students that she meets everyday is paying off in the student body raising money via GoFundMe.com to pay for her medical expenses that her health insurance cannot pay. Marietta who is the lunch lady at Drake University for 15 years remains upbeat that she will get better since doctors have found out that being cheerful during rough times will improve the health of the patient. So far the money raised on GoFundMe.com has reached more than $18,000 dollars for payment of medical bills that Marietta's health insurance cannot pay.
