Day 261
(Psalms 135:1-7) Praise the LORD! Praise the name of the LORD. Praise Him, O you servants of the LORD! You who stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God, praise the LORD, for the LORD is good. Sing praises to His name, for it is pleasant. For the LORD has chosen Jacob for Himself, Israel for His special treasure. For I know that the LORD is great, and our Lord is above all gods. Whatever the LORD pleases He does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and in all deep places. He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain. He brings the wind out of His treasuries.
(Psalms 135:19-21) Bless the LORD, O house of Israel! Bless the LORD, O house of Aaron! Bless the LORD, O house of Levi! You who fear the LORD, bless the LORD! Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, who dwells in Jerusalem! Praise the LORD!
Have you been so happy that you started singing? Everything you saw looked better and brighter than usual. Everything you did turned out perfect. Nothing could hinder your day to make you sad. You had a smile and a good word for everyone.
The psalmist is full of joy. He urged the servants of the LORD, the priests, who stood in the temple courts to praise God and bless His name. He gave them a reason for their joy: because God chose them and they were His special treasure.
When was the last time you felt like a special treasure? When was the last time you blessed and praised God?
As Christians, you should feel like a special treasure every day, knowing God chose you as His favorite child.
(1 Peter 2:9-10) But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. (NKJV)
You have every reason to sing, shout, praise, and bless God for all He did for you. He brought you out of darkness, the darkness of sin. He broke the shackles of slavery from your life through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Your song should join the servants of God who stood in His presence night and day. Worship Him. Praise Him. Bless His holy name. Now and forevermore.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for choosing me to be Your child. May You hear my voice in Your throne as I praise You and lift my voice in worship. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
