Random extra money

Yesterday and today my husband got money from his old job randomly. Apparently, just now $1k was deposited into our bank account. He had been getting disability from his work for over a year before he resigned and move to his new job that he started last week. We both have to know idea what the money was for if there is any note. Usually, if it's a bounce or something there is a notation on the deposit from them. But we are both also like not going to look gift horse in the mouth. Extra money is extra money. The only thought my husband had been maybe it was a hold on his last paycheck.
