Walk this morning, and...

Went for a half hour walk this morning, and then came home and did some cross stitch out on the patio for close to an hour.
Looking at the color I bought out there and comparing it to what I'd stitched, it's not quite right. I'll use it if I can't find the right color in the colors I have--the doll I'm stitching is supposed to be old and may be a bit sun faded on one side. 
Now, though, I need to make some lunch.

Your situation with the colors reminds me of the afghan my mother began to knit when she was expecting me. She worked on it on and off for years and years. When I got married at age 27, she finally finished it. She'd taken so long that when she ran out of yarn, the color she needed was no longer produced, and because she couldn't find a suitable substitute, there is about 1 square foot of my two-tone green afghan blanket that is pure white.

I bought 948. I found a skein of 819 in one of my Mom's old bags of floss that I think will work better.
