Day 285 (Proverbs 15:23) A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is! People always look for answers when things go wrong and even when they go right because the answer eluded them for so long. When the answer comes, it brings joy to the hearer as well as to the one giving it. It comes at just the right time when people are ready to give up. When Solomon began his reign, God asked him what he wanted and told him He would give him his desire. Solomon asked for wisdom to reign over His people. God granted him wisdom and much more. Solomon’s wisdom brought surprise and joy to those who heard him because his judgments were always just and fair. As Christians, you know God promised Adam and Eve a Savior to bring them back into a right relationship with Him. His people waited for 4000 years for a Savior, Jesus Christ. (Galatians 4:4-5) But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive the adoption as sons. (NKJV) (Romans 5:6-8) For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (NKJV) God’s answer, in due time, brought joy to His people, to you and me, because until Jesus died, we were without hope and headed to Hell. Now, we have hope through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and the blood He shed on Calvary. We are no longer hopeless, but hopeful because we know joy unspeakable and full of glory. God’s answer always brings joy. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for sending Your Son, Jesus, to die so that I might live and enjoy eternity with you. There is no greater joy than to be in Your presence. Help me bring the message of hope and joy to those who have never heard the gospel of salvation so that they too will receive Your joy. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
