Working on a Portrait this Weekend

I had to take a break from the painting of Taz because I have another portrait commission that slipped in. It's a graphite (pencil) portrait, and I can do those pretty quickly. The client gave me the reference photo a few weeks ago, and I am just finishing up the piece this weekend.
Here is a photo of the work in progress, taken late last night. That might seem weird, but really it's no problem to work on a black-and-white piece at night. If my piece is in color, I do prefer to have natural light to ensure the colors are accurate. That's one of the reasons that the painting of Taz is taking so long to complete - the light has to be right to even work on it at all. Hope you enjoy this in the meantime.
There are a lot of reflections on her glasses in the photo and the lighting is creating awkward shadows, but I'm fixing that.

You are very good Ali. It is a good likeness already.
Yes, I suppose the lighting has to be correct too, I understand.
Anyhow, she looks a nice lady too

Thank you! Yes, the lighting is a bit challenging, but it's not too bad. The reflections on her glasses right over part of her eyes was the hardest thing, but I think it's working out okay.

@AliCanary You're very welcome. I still think you should do book illustration. It would be expensive; but I still need illustrations for my children's picture book. Have a good week.
