Dillon Reeves who is 13 years of age and is a student at Carter Middle School in Warren Michigan is being praised by the members of the Warren Consolidated Schools (WCS) on Thursday at his school for his actions of saving the lives of his fellow students who were aboard a school bus after the female driver called someone on the telephone that she was going to pull over to the side of the road since she felt ill. When the female bus driver passed out behind the wheel while driving the bus, Dillon left his seat and went to the bus driver's seat to clutch the break and steer the bus to a complete stop. Dillon told his fellow students to call 911 on their cellphones to ask for help. The bus was safely stopped and the passengers were saved. The reason that the female bus driver passed out behind the wheel is not known. The name of the bus driver was not released or her condition due to school privacy reasons. The female bus driver began working in July 2022. Superintendent Robert B Livernois thanked Dillon for his actions of saving his fellow students from a tragic ending. Dillion claims that he learned his actions of assisting persons in need since Dillon would be a passenger riding an auto with his dad Steve Reeves and watching his dad drive an auto. Dillon's parents who are Irene and Steve Reeves are proud that their son is humble and helpful. Dillon will be given a reward in the school at a later date to thank him for his role in saving the lives of his fellow students when the school bus was coming home from school. The young boy is a hero, but when I saw the story aired on the evening new on one of the Detroit news stations, the boy was actually in tears and seemed very defensive. I think that his parents are making more out of this than the young boy wants.

@Deepizzaguy I think that the parents are 'selling' the story much more than it needs to be. Imagine how that poor bus driver feels.

I am in agreement with you since stardom for children can be very stressful for them.

Dillon is indeed a hero to the point where his parents are protecting him from the media attention that he is getting for his heroic act.

I did notice that Dillon's last name is the same as the deceased actor who played Superman on television before I was born in 1961.

I'm glad that Dillon was able to keep a level head and stop the bus. He's a hero.

I am in agreement with you since his parents trained him very well in dealing with these kinds of emergencies.

That is very true that the kid heroes hardly make news headlines these days.
