Crackheads and Alligators

I would like to have a discussion about a Florida crackhead who was high (on crack), naked, and walked into a swampy area - and was attacked by an alligator. Please read all of this before you respond. The story is http://www.tampabays10.com/news/local/article.aspx?storyid=44663 "Deputies rescue man from alligator attack By: Preston RudieLakeland, Florida - A Polk City man is in critical condition after being attacked by an alligator early Wednesday morning. Officials say the man had been smoking crack cocaine and was naked when he walked into a swampy area of Lake Parker in Polk County around 4 AM. While walking through the water, an alligator believed to be about 12 feet in length attacked the man. Authorities say the man, identified as 45-year-old Adrian Apgar, then started screaming for help. A short time later, three deputies and a Sgt. from the Polk County Sheriff's office arrived on the scene. Within seconds, the men started walking through the swampy area looking for the victim. Billy Osborne, Polk County Deputy: "When I first saw him (Apgar), he was crouched down, you could tell the alligator had him by the arms." Eventually the men were able to get Apgar from the alligator and pull him to shore. Michael Parker, Polk County Deputy: "I would be lying if I didn't say I was somewhat scared." Apgar was taken to a local hospital and according to the sheriff is in critical condition. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd says Apgar has a broken right arm, a partially amputated left arm and major trauma to his left leg and rear. Grady Judd, Polk County Sheriff: "I asked the deputies how big do you thing the alligator was? They said 'about the size of a school bus." About 10 hours after the attack, professional trappers removed an alligator from the lake that measured almost 12 feet in length. Officials believe it's the gator that attacked Apgar. According to a Florida Fish and Wildlife spokesperson, the alligator will be destroyed. Preston Rudie, Tampa Bay's 10 News" There is a follow up article http://www.tampabays10.com/news/local/article.aspx?storyid=44720 Where you can actually hear the 911 call. I would like to have an open discussion. What are your thoughts on this article? What are your thoughts about this man? What are your thoughts about crack? What are your thoughts about the media putting 911 calls such as this out there for the general public to hear? Do we have a right to hear such things? What about the rights of the victim? Should his personal tragedy be broadcast for all the world to see? Do you think he deserved what happened to him? Ok now for the instructions - please do NOT insult me - because these are just open ended questions, not my opinion. Please do not type "I don't know" or "asdfas" just to boost your score because I rate all such comments with a -. Also on another discussion I had, some people copied word for word other people's comments as their own. This is silly. If you don't have something real to say don't bother.
