Day 298 (Proverbs 28:20) A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished. Have you noticed how some people seem to have everything they desire while you struggle to make ends meet? Solomon said faithful men would abound with blessings. They would have more than they need. However, those who sought riches would be punished. When your whole life is consumed with money, you miss out on the joys of living. Instead of gaining, you lose. Marriages end in divorce, you lose the job you worked hard to achieve, you lose out on knowing anything about your children, and everything you desire is out of reach. As Christians, when you are faithful to God and obey Him in everything, you will find blessings in places you didn’t expect. His rewards for faithfulness are boundless. People will envy you because you have what they can’t achieve. When people turn their lives over to God to take care of their needs, and not rush in to gain the unattainable, they will find God’s blessings on their lives too. And those things that were unreachable, will find a place in their lives. Paul likened God’s blessings to a prize. (1 Corinthians 9:24-27) Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore, I run thus, not with uncertainty. Thus, I fight, not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I should become disqualified. (Philippians 3:13-14) Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (NKJV) Your life is a marathon of service to Jesus Christ. Your faithfulness is the prize of the upward call in God in Christ Jesus. Therefore, live your life in faithfulness to God and you will abound with His blessings. Let’s pray: Father, help me keep my eyes on You and not the world to obtain worldly gains, but on the prize of worthy service in Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Amen! Such wise thought. Worldly gains and materialism can never lead to true happiness. I count every little joys around me. They are true blessings from the Almighty

I would not want to gain the whole world and lose my soul, for on the day of judgment my riches or fame would not be able to help me.
