Betel leaf plantations are called paan in bengali. In the states of Bengal and Orissa it is very popular. People call it paan boroj. It is covered from all sides as there is strong sun light in summer. The plantations are like creepers and the leaves are plucked and sold in the market. It brings huge revenue.

Yes this crop is something that can be termed as Cash Crop. It has a lot of usage across India.
