Day 308 (Ecclesiastes 3:11-15) He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work God does from beginning to end. I know nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives, and that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor—it is the gift of God. I know that whatever God does, it will be forever. Nothing can be added to it, and nothing taken from it. God does it, that men should fear before Him. That which has already been, and what will be has already been; and God requires an account of what is past. Many things in life cannot be changed. You cannot change the laws of physics. You cannot change nature—climate, the rotation of the earth. Everything is in harmony. If a man should attempt to change the natural order of life on earth, it would cease. Solomon, in all his wisdom, made several observations about God. 1. Everything God made was beautiful. 2. God put eternity in man’s hearts. 3. No one can find out everything God did. 4. Whatever God does is eternal. 5. Nothing can be added or subtracted from what God did. Solomon concluded that the best thing man can do is to eat, drink, and rejoice in everything he does because it is God’s gift to mankind. He also said that life repeats itself. What was, will be again. Then he said God requires an account of the past. As Christians, these truths have been poured into you from the moment you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. Everything you learned as a child in school became clear when you opened your Bible and began to read about God’s creation—how He spoke the world into existence, created you from the dust of the ground, and gave you a purpose. God left nothing to chance. Everything has a purpose. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8) To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to gain, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. Where are you in God’s purpose for your life? Rejoice because God has you in the palm of His hand. He holds you when you weep. He rejoices with you when you laugh. God is with you in every stage of your life. You cannot get away from His presence. One absolute you can count on: God never changes. His love for you is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. When you grasp this truth, rejoice and praise God, and love on Him. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for giving me Your purpose for my life. Thank you for being with me in everything I experience and holding me when life shakes me up and the only place I can run is into Your arms. Thank you for sheltering me when Satan comes against me and fighting my battles for me. Thank you for holding me in Your loving arms and letting me know I am Your child. Thank you that Your love never fails. Let Your praise fill me as I sing Your praise and worship You in spirit and in truth. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Solomon has the wisdom that comes from God. Yes, we should not worry because God has us in His loving hands, and that we are more important than the birds.
