A Chilean woman who works on TV here was discovered to have a very agressive breast cancer. She had to have surgery and chemotherapy.
As her sister said, she did not only placed the ribbon on her clothes, but she decided to make a documentary about what was happening to her as it was happening.
And I am now watching the second part of this documentary that, as she said, she had done it so that women understood the importance of having tests every year.
She has been lucky as it seems that the cancer is under control. But she has explained all the losses. The loss of hair, the loss of her breast, the decision of taking off the other breast and the need of a replacement.
As I have gone through part of that, it has been very moving for me. She also searched for alternative medicine. I always say that I would not be here if it wasn´t for the love an care of Leticia.
Claudia Conserva, the woman, is a very brave woman. And the name of the documentary she herself did in part is called exactly that. Brava, the Spanish word for brave.
But there are lots of brave people in this world that are doing all they can to overcome this hideous illness.

I think that it is important. But what I don´t understand that they have to be done by celebrities instead of having the Health service of the government explain what we should do. There are specialists and they could show a scientific approach.

@Butterfingers In my country a great deal has been done for decades through telethons. But that, too, should have been done by the government.

That sounds like a very moving documentary especially for someone like you that has gone through cancer treatment.
