Generally there is risk in following advertisements and taking medicines.

I know a lot of people in the neighbourhood who are influenced by advertisements and take medicines without consulting the doctor. There are huge risks for taking medicines in those ways. There are certain medicines like Pudin Hara which are well known. But for a sore throat if a patient takes an antibiotic just because it is advertised in the TV it can have side effects and patients can suffer.
