Tragic train accident happens in India, the worst of the decade on 2 june 2023. Three trains crashed on June 2, 2023 in the eastern Indian state of Odisha's Balasore district. A goods train collided with the 12841 Shalimar - MGR Chennai Central Coromandel Express when it entered the passing loop rather than the main line at Bahanaga Bazar railway station.
Deaths
At least 288 people
Non-fatal injuries
At least 1,200 people
Rescued
At least 30 people
Both trains were traveling at their top authorized speed of 128 km/h (80 mph), as they were not intended to halt at the railway station and had been given the 'green light' suggesting it was safe to continue down the main line.
The investigation is going on to find the root cause of the accident but primarily reports suggest failure in the interlocking system of the signal was caused but the authorities had not ruled out for the sabotage or external involvement in the accident.
my prayer is with the family of the deceased, god gives strength to overcome the sadness, although the government has announced 10 lakh inr support to each family the loss cannot be justified.
