Day 331 (Isaiah 44:1-8) “Yet hear now, O Jacob My servant, and Israel whom I have chosen. Thus says the LORD who made you and formed you from the womb, who will help you: ‘Fear not, O Jacob My servant; and you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring; they will spring up among the grass like willows by the watercourses.’ One will say, ‘I am the LORD’S’; another will call himself by the name of Jacob; another will write with his hand, ‘The LORD’S,’ and name himself by the name of Israel. Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me, there is no God. And who can proclaim as I do? Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me, since I appointed the ancient people. And the things that are coming and will come, let them show these to them. Do not fear, nor be afraid; have I not told you from that time, and declared it? You are My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? Indeed, there is no other Rock; I know not one.’” We want people to know what we do. We sign documents and make contracts in front of others who put their names on them as witnesses. If anyone wants to contest what we do, we have witnesses who can show the legitimacy of our claims. God has witnesses to everything He did from the beginning. He chose Israel as His chosen people; blessed them and gave them everything they needed. Yet, it wasn’t enough, they turned from God to idols. In His defense, God showed the people their idols could not do what He alone can do. He alone is God, your Redeemer, the King, and the LORD of hosts. There is no other that can make that claim. When you accepted Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord, you proclaimed Him as your King. You became His witness and received His blessing as His dear child, chosen from the foundation of the world. Yet, how often do you turn from Him? How often do you look to someone else to fill the empty places in your life? God said He alone is God and beside Him, there is no other. Can you name one person who can do what only God can do in your life? God pleaded with His people to return to Him. He showed them what He did for them from the beginning. He does the same for you. From the moment you declared that He was your God and His Son, Jesus, as your Savior, He blessed you. He showed you His power. He sent His Holy Spirit to you to teach you everything you need to know. You are His witnesses. Open your mouth and declare what God did for you. Receive His blessing and watch Him fill your life and overflow with His goodness.
