EATING OUT JUNE 2023 PART !

I don't think anyone would be surprised to hear me say that I could eat out 21 meals a week if I could afford it but even if there hadn't been COVID and inflation causing sticker shock when opening a menu, plus some restaurants adding whatever charges they can get away with I am sort of stuck to eating out twice a week. In addition to the 4 restaurants above my favorites include Cafe Vico, Big Louie's, Tequila Sunrise, Subway, The Quarterdeck, Arby's, JMarks, The Cheesecake Factory and The Lotus. I usually eat in a fast food place one day and a full-service one the next day and those days are Thursday and Friday, the former after food shopping and the next after a movie. When Allen feels like something light we go to #1 IHOP where I will have either a cheese omelet or a turkey sandwich, while Allen will go for their cheeseburger which usually runs about $30 plus tip! When we go to 17th Street (Chase Bank and/or Dollar Tree) it is either Quarterdeck or #4 Outback. This past Thursday we went to the Outback and had: A Blooming Onion, 2 Sirloin steaks with Lobster & Cheese Macaroni--Allen had a salad and I had a baked potato plus he had an Arnold Palmer and I had water to drink with the check coming to $59.83 including tax and tip FOR LUNCH BUT we had a coupon for a free Blooming Onion plus a $10 'reward' on our OUTBACK card so saved $20. When we go to Winn-Dixie since #2 Jalisco is right across the street we more often than not go there for lunch and in most cases I will either have the Fajitas or Shrimp pasta and Allen will have a seafood stir fry and the check usually runs around $30. For a change two weeks ago we went to Padrino's #3 for the first time in awhile. It is one of the better-known Cuban restaurants in Fort Lauderdale though they have cut out their lunch buffet since COVID started. Allen had the Mayi's Mahi Mahi and I had the Shrimp Enchiladas and we both had a Flan for dessert with the check coming to $55.88 All in all good food but seeing prices for lunch can make a person hesitate about eating out but whoever said I was a person???

The prices for eating out are, indeed, killer. But some dishes are oh so tasty!

Wow, reading about your dining adventures made me hungry! It's so cool that you have a routine of going out for meals twice a week and exploring various restaurants. I can totally understand the joy of treating yourself to different cuisines and savoring delicious dishes. Personally, I have a similar routine of going out once a week to try new eateries and enjoy some quality time with friends or family. It's always exciting to discover new flavors and experience the unique ambiance of different restaurants. Your descriptions of the meals and the savings you scored with coupons and rewards have me itching to plan my next dining excursion. Thanks for sharing your foodie experiences!

@GreatMartin The Covid times were very tough for many Eateries and Restaurants. I know of a complete Food Court with roughly 15 to 16 outlets shutting down at my previous Office space. Bigger or Medium brands like Domino's, Wow Momo, Yo China and more still managed to survive courtesy online food orders and "Cloud" kitchens but many had to shut down. I think how would have those people and their families managed those times.

It is amazing how many restaurants have gone out of business the past 3 years and how many new ones have opened!!

You have to eat out once in awhile. Just to have a different taste in foods that we do not eat at home. All the pictures of food in your picture look really good to me.

These posts of yours always make me hungry and bring me back to when mom and I went out to restaurants in NYC, I think if I can and get lucky to make some additional money I will take myself out to a restaurant this summer, I have been wanting to try the Joe's Crab Shack here for a long time, Will you come have lunch with me when I am ready to go here?

We use my survey and panel $$ to eat out with. We try to go out once or twice a month, usually after a doctor's appointment. Prices are getting ridiculous; and I don't see any end to it. Hope you and Allen have a good Sunday.

That sounds like good outings. I was just wondering how you manage those $60 plus bills? Do you try to reduce your bill consumption and other expenses otherwise? Overall a good variety of foods styles and tastes.

I just went to IHOP with a guy and treated us both. The tab was 40 plus a 4.00 tip. The next time I left the tip off. Service was not satisfactory. I'm the customer. Don't act like I'm getting on your nerves!!! Nice restaurants and of course food!!! When I come to Florida, these will be my first stops!
