Day 334
(Isaiah 51:4-16) “Listen to Me, My people; and give ear to Me, O My nation: for the law will proceed from Me, and I will make My justice rest as a light of the peoples. My righteousness is near, My salvation has gone forth, and My arms will judge the peoples; the coastlands will wait upon Me, and on My arm, they will trust. Lift your eyes to the heavens and look at the earth beneath. For the heavens will vanish away like smoke, the earth will grow old like a garment, and those who dwell in it will die in like manner; but My salvation will be forever, and My righteousness will not be abolished. Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, you people in whose heart is My law: do not fear the reproach of men, nor be afraid of their insults. For the moth will eat them up like a garment, and the worm will eat them like wool; but My righteousness will be forever, and My salvation from generation to generation.” Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD! Awake as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Are You not the arm that cut Rahab apart, and wounded the serpent? Are You not the One who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep; that made the depths of the sea a road for the redeemed to cross over? So, the ransomed of the LORD will return, and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. They will obtain joy and gladness; sorrow and sighing will flee away. “I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid of a man who will die, and of the son of a man who will be made like grass? And you forget the LORD your Maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth; you have feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor when he prepared to destroy. Where is the fury of the oppressor? The captive exile hastens, that he may be loosed, that he should not die in the pit, and that his bread should not fail. I am the LORD your God, who divided the sea whose waves roared—The LORD of hosts is His name. I put My words in your mouth; I covered you with the shadow of My hand, that I may plant the heavens, lay the foundations of the earth, and say to Zion, ‘You are My people.’”
In a court of law, lawyers make compelling arguments to bring about the truth. They want you to see the evidence they present as fact and render the right verdict.
God presents a compelling argument to His people. He showed them what He did to bring them to the place where they are. He told them the earth would wear out like a blanket, nothing would last except His Word and His salvation.
What is the number one topic regarding the earth? Isn’t it climate change? The earth is wearing out like the garment Isaiah prophesied about when God told him nothing would stand forever except His salvation.
As Christians, you see the signs God presented to His people. You know what Jesus told His people about the signs of the last days. And you know God’s Word is the only thing that will last forever.
(Matthew 24:4-8) Jesus answered and said to them, “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. You will hear about wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
(Matthew 24:35) Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. (NKJV)
We see the signs Jesus spoke about, happening right now. There are wars and rumors of wars. Earthquakes in uncommon places and more often. We just came through a worldwide pandemic. Every day you see and hear the plea to feed the hungry because of famine throughout the world. There is one constant in everything—God’s Word stands forever; His salvation is eternal. You know Jesus is coming soon. He told His people to look up when they see the signs being fulfilled.
(Luke 21:28) “When these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
Now is the time for joy, gladness, singing, and rejoicing because Jesus is coming soon.
Let’s pray: Father, I see the signs spoken about by Isaiah. The earth is wearing out. I see the signs Jesus said to watch for. Thank you for giving me hope for Your Son’s soon return. Let me sing and rejoice because You always keep Your promises. Jesus is coming back. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
