David Freese Refuses St. Louis Cardinals Hall Of Fame Induction

In a world that seems to show no respect. This guy shows all the respect for a city and all the greats before him. The St. Louis Cardinals gave those players the red jacket. Freese seems to think he is not honorable enough. Guys spent 10 to 20 years in that city. Besides not your fault the organization traded you. Its not like you said you hated this place. He was not a bad hitter but not that great either, but he did have the clutch gene. I can see both points of view, but here is what I said about the matter. I get it, but I think the betters that spent their whole career in St.Louis or most would say that is what we play for. That one moment and he did it twice. I hope they can talk him out of his decision because he did it twice in the same game that led to the ultimate prize for a city that loves baseball.

I read an interview with him, and he said he wasn't proud of the man he was back then. He also seemed upset on Twitter that Cardinals fans didn't take his rejection well.

I am sure he has his reasons but he did make history and social media has pretty much destroyed any authentic thing. It does not always need to be authentic overall but it was authentic in the moment and that is why he deserves the red jacket. I do not know any player to tie the game and then hit winning home run in extra innings in game 6 of world series and then have team so pumped they won game 7 with ease. Sometimes you just suck it up for the greater good and I am sure he is a man that gets that point.

@crossbones27 I was really disappointed he rejected the Hall of Fame honor, and I think he'll regret it.

@AmbiePam I am pretty sure all those hall of famer's will talk him out of it. Never underestimate the power of Ozzie Smith and Willie McGee looking you straight in the eyes. I love it too because they the least non power hitters but guarantee the ones with the most power as far as that goes now.

I see both sides. Fernando Tatis is forever linked to history because of his time as a Cardinal: he’s the only person to ever hit two grand slams in the same inning. The magic of game six in 2011 was unreal. Freeze may have been gone two games later, but that was management, not his doing. I hope he reconsiders, too. That was one of the greatest World Series I’ve ever seen.

Yeah I also Amber's @AmbiePam point he said he was not in a great place which means team knows something we did not. Hell, I say all the more reason and still to be able to do that. That is definitely what most dream of even if you a cashier. I hate this job but if places burned down you know I would save everyone inside. Its like what The Interrupters say people to hard on themselves.
