Rice dumplings

This is a filling snack made from boiled rice
The rice is soaked over night and ground to a paste dry enough to make balls. Enough jaggery is added while grinding and then mixed with scraped coconut.
Dumplings are made with a dimple in the middle and the dumplings are steamed.
We normally have this for breakfast
I know there are many types of dumplings and some with fillings.

One thing about dumplings is that the door is open to have any stuffing We mix coconut but may be I will try one of the several possibilities.

I like dumplings made with ragi flour , process is almost same , ragi flour is steamed with jaggery and coconut grated, then ghee added made into medium size balls. In winters sesame oil is added instead of ghee.

Dumplings for breakfast I could do that with some eggs too.. Thanks miss lady gave me a idea. Maybe they come with it where you are here, never had it like that usually just chicken and dumplings but not the same as baby chickens and dumplings.

@allknowing Amen and its a neat thing about sharing cultures. I do wish people saw the positive in people more than the negative. I get why they do not but would be so beneficial to everyone.

I love dumplings. I like dumplings with shrimp, dumplings with pork and vegetables.
