My daughter wont eat the soup with moringa leaves which her father cooked which is so delicious and nutritious. She said she is fasting. I snapped and went into a nagging frenzy LOL. I needed to go out. I went to town and don't know what to buy haha. So I bought 4 kg of salt for less than a dollar. I read in the book One Second After how they preserve raw meat without a freezer and that is by adding salt. In the game I am playing salt is so hard to get and used to dry meat in a drying rack. So maybe salt is a prepping staple. And it is still very cheap and readily available. I grabbed some sweets for my daughter too.

They definitely used it to preserve food when they had no refrigeration, but I think I should try to retain the least amount of water I can.

It's natural for parents to nag when kids do something wrong, but I do go out too when I am too angry because I might say something I would regret later on. Words can hurt more than physical wounds. So, I always go out if I am so mad that I can't contain myself.

Well as parents we definitely nag more sometimes. But well, kids are from another generation so their line of thinking and action would definitely differ ! Salt is a big preservative for many food items.
