In India today is ulto rath yatra. In the ratha or chariot Lord Jagannath will return back to his native house after completing journey during ratha. Lord Jagannath is Hindu God without any form. The famous Jagannath temple is in Puri. In Calcutta children play with wooden rath and plant toy God idol of Jagannath Balaram and Subhadra.

yes it is celebrated. There are huge chariots where the idols of Lord Jagannath Balaram and Shubhadra are kept and they are made to return back to original temple

@thebos thanks John many devotees feel that if they can touch the chariot which carries the idols of Lord Jaganath they please the Gods.
