Who's to blame for spoiled children?

I was just thinking about it, and I think most people blame the parents. I agree on this. I have a step uncle who is 18 years old. All while we were growing up he got the newest video games, coolest clothes, etc. His mom purchased him just about anything he wanted, but she was never really there for him. (Another thing I think a lot of parents do.) Anyway, a week after his 18th birthday he got arrested for DWI and possession.
Who do you think is responsible for spoiled children?

the parents of course. its them who should dicipline the child. a child'c behaviour usually reflects the way his parents reared him. exception is if the child was not with his or her parents. on that case, the one responsible are the persons whom the chikd had grown with.

The parents. Most of the kids who are spoiled are the ones that don't have brothers nor sisters. That happens because the parents feel sorry for them not having someone to play, and all, besides their friends. So they star buying everything the kid asks, that way, when they say no, the kid will just say "but you always do what I ask" or "but i dont have any brothers" the parents will feel sorry for them again, and get what they want. Little spoiled children are no problem, but when the situation gets out of hands, like the case of your uncle, then its very serious, and they should get help from a psychologist. The kid has to understand that the parents dont have the obligation to do everything they ask, just because they dont have siblings.

umm i think its the parents and the grandparents and sommethimes the older sisters and brothers fault..

The parents have to blame themselves for the spoiled children.Just to buy at child everyting they want is not good,since material things are not important..it is more important to teach them the quality of life,love and affection...give them attention..not toys..

i dont blame only parents for thr. behaviour...coz children r not home the whole day...thr friends company has to be blamed ..n the school n children thmselves ofcourse...r also responsible for this...

Children are like fresh flowers when they are born.The slate of their mind is like an empty page to write on....they are like clay in the hands of their parents, to mould them into good human beings.This process takes along time, and does not happen overnight.A lot of understanding,talking, discussing, n counselling, etc, are involved inorder to impart proper values, and priorities, in a childs mind.As a parent you really have to give this relationship a lot of time and patience.
Keeping all this in mind, I feel parents are to be blamed majorly for spoiling their kids.

television is to blamed for spoiling the kids in this generation.at a very young age kids are exposed to a lot of mature material which is not right

the parents aree defiently... they wonder why there child is so spoiled but there the ones who are giving everyhting to them in a silver platter...

The Parents are defiantly to blame... then they wonder why they get spoiled its because they gave there children everything in a silvr spoon and yeah its ok but to an extant...
