I Almost Hit Two Joggers This Morning!

The road we live on is a dead-end road. Nobody walks past or drives by, unless they are visiting our neighbors.
I was leaving at 7:00A for my morning coffee by the Bay. As I was pulling out of the driveway, two joggers appeared it seemed like, out of nowhere! I slammed on my brakes and both these men jogged to the side, to avoid an accident.
They never lost their stride, laughed and kept going! I immediately put my window down, to apologize. The younger fella waved back and stated, "No problem at all!"
Yet, in my chest my heart was beating overtime! I was thinking about what COULD have happened, but didn't:( I've never had a close call like this one, in over 55 years.
It frightened me!

Things like that are scary as all get out. I remember one time when I lived in NOVA, it was near George Mason University and raining...two or three peope in dark clothes likely students showed up right in front of me. I didn't have to brake hard or anything but it shook me up because I never saw them until I was right on top of them. I could have hit them.

@snowy22315 Those fellas were out having fun, probably timing themselves or regulating their speed. They were in another universe, striving for enjoyment!

How very fortunate that you saw them and they saw you in time? I was once in the jogger's shoes, only instead of apologizing, the driver - a male - flipped me the bird and drove off. It did teach me to always double-check that no one is walking or jogging toward my driveway when pulling out.

@kobesbuddy I'm glad they weren't alarmed. Yes, God prevented the accident.

@kobesbuddy I can relate to what you went through since at least the two joggers were not mad at you.

The first thing I did, slammed on the brakes and grabbed my mouth! This caused them to laugh at me:(
