Update on my daughter.

Today was my daughter's day with the orthopedist. Her foot is definitely broken in at least four places. Her tendons and ligaments are definitely torn. She will need surgery to repair the damage. In the image, you can see some of the overall bruising on her foot. This was after they removed the original temporary cast so they could take their own xrays. You can also see her on the knee scooter we got her so she can get around. She was very pleased with how easy it was since she's not allowed to step on that foot. She goes from ZERO to WHEEEEEE in no time. Hopping on one foot at home is one thing. But, in other places, it's not going to work. You can also see that she had the new cast on by the time I took those photos. After her next visit, she has to have a CT scan to see the underlying tissue in greater detail. She has a letter from the ortho to give to her boss explaining why she can't go to work for a while (she has to keep the foot above her heart to help reduce the swelling so they can see if there is more damage hiding). Much of what she does can be done from home, so she will be doing that. That includes her second job - she can do that from home as well, although she says there are fewer distractions at work. I'm definitely getting a workout with all this having to go up and down the stairs a whole lot more than I usually do. I usually avoid it because of my bad knee. But, her damage has immobilized her. Mine hasn't.
