Evry year during the Jack Fruit season we make this snack I made it yesterday and it turned out nice It is normally wrapped in teak leaves but we deo not have a teak tree around. Boiled rice is soaked overnight and ground to a paste by adding jack fruit and jaggery. Scaped coconut is added t othis paste and wrapped in fig leaves. The stuff is then steamed. I will soon be makking a vegetable dish using jack fruit We had a bumper crop pthis year and much of it was donated to an orphanage. The image is of what I prepared last year. Do you make any seasonal dishes or snacks?

@allknowing Every season since meals are hard to come by at home due to money being tight.

That looks like our rice dumplings. We put pork belly, beans with glutinous rice inside. Wrapped by bamboo leaves.

@allknowing Rice dumplings also have sweet ones. We use Lotus seed paste.

Interesting food. We do have sticky rice like that is sweetened by either sugar or dried coconut meat.

@allknowing I can imagine that to be sweet right because of the jackfruit.
