Father - Children relationship

I still have some mixed feelings. After years having miscommunications with my father, finally I got chances to talk with him again through phone call. I got his information from internet few months ago, and I decided to contact him. I missed him so much, but also still have anger towards him for leaving us. Glad that it sounds like my father still loves his children. He told me that he would meet me and my sister as soon as he could. I am a big girl now, I don't need him to support me, but I just want connections with him. That's it. In my opinion, children look to their fathers to lay down the rules and enforce them. They also look to their fathers to provide a feeling of security, both physical and emotional. How is your relationship with your father?

That's what almost all children want to get from their father.

@aninditasen Sometimes fathers are strict in order to discipline their children.

I hope you are able to have the relationship with your dad that you want. My relationship with my dad is good. I know he loves me, and he would help me no matter what, but I often feel like he would change me if he could. But he’s a great dad, and I am thankful for him.

My father was very hard-working. He did all possible for us to become what I am today. He used to think that his children would be righteous persons. He never said us to be this or be that, he taught us to become good human beings.
