SHOULD WE STAY PATRIOTIC TO OUR COUNTRY?

What do you think about patriosm. I am finding it difficult to remain patriotic to the great country I grew up in South Africa. There is so much crime and hatred here now, I don't want to be patriotic. The crimes and acts of violence are horrendous. I was hijacked by 4 men. 1 man put a gun in my neck while I was still in the car, 4 other men were trying to open my locked doors. I was then pulled from the car and the man with the gun held his arm around me with the gun under my lower jaw. Sometime inbetween I was made to look down the barrel of the gun. Fortunately, some factory workers saw this happening, and the guys ran away after throwing me onto the ground. I am one of the 'lucky' ones. Other people are murdered straight out in cold blood. Would you still feel patriotic to your country?
