Grateful for the 4 Hours Sleep

I have resolved to be positive and look at what I have. But the reality of it is I cant sleep last night because my eczema are so itchy. At 12 midnight I thought I can take antihistamine. The one I took is Loratadine and then I read today that it is non-drowsy. Im thinking of asking my daughter to take charge fully of the dishes. I will explain to her my condition and also I will tell her to reward her efforts I will add $20 to her allowance. I will tell her I will be in charge of trying to get to work most days to cover our expenses. Why life is so tough but like Jim I would accept my lot in life what I have been given.

Having a positive view of life when events are out of your control is the best way to recover from a storm in life we all go through from time to time.

I noticed life is a mix of good and bad. And when we choose the positive one, we dont lose the chance to enjoy.

You, of course, should do what you want to do, but adding $20 to an allowance is a little extreme. You said once she didn't usually do chores anyway. Well, if she already gets an allowance, you have been giving her free money. It's only now she's actually earning it (and I understand her health limits her). Explaining to her everyone who lives in your home just has to pitch in a little more, should be enough. If you feel really strongly about adding a little more to her allowance, okay, but $20 sounds like too much for something she could have been made to do before now. You are a good mom, and she undoubtedly is a good daughter. As such, I wouldn't expect your small ask to be a big deal; knowing I took on more responsibilities when my mom was sick gave me a satisfaction more money couldn't.

I am sorry to hear about your eczema. I don't have eczema but I have insomnia. To say that I am sleep deprived is an understatement. Sometimes, I sleep less than four hours. Four days ago, I bought a bottle of tart cherry pills. It is said that it helps produce melatonin. I have been taking it for three days. I haven't seen the results yet. Like you, I prefer to look at the bright side of life and accept circumstances optimistically.

I think I would ask your daughter just to do the dishes and not increase her allowance. $20 is a lot. Good luck and enjoy your weekend.

Although we want our daughter's to have an easy life, I think these are things which would benefit her because when she decides to live on her own she will be capable and independent.
