Railway stations in India are always overcrowded. It's an arduous task to board train especially in the peak hours! I have to reach college by 9:15a.m. So I usually take the 7:45a.m. train to avoid scurrying through busy streets and missing the right bus next. It's so difficult to find the minimalistic space for your body juxtaposed between several other bodies. Fortunately, we have ladies compartment in all the local trains. But still, it's always crowded in the morning.
Do you like travelling in public transport? How is it like commuting in public transport in your country?

@Dreamby Yes as you said Indian Railways are trying to serve better
It's a cheapest mode of transport as well
But it cannot bear the population.
Day by day it increases & I think it reached to 150 crores nearing China's
I really laughed a lot
oh my stomach is paining reading your sentance & sense of your writing way
(It's so difficult to find the minimalistic space for your body juxtaposed between several other bodies. )
I usually go to my office by SHARE AUTO from my home & I will catch LOCAL TRANSPORT ie by bus for office related works
Here in Chennai, so crowded in all transport
We have Metro Rail Service covering many areas of Chennai
Have a Good Day Aparna

Yeah. public transport in India is a menace. I have decided to shift to a place nearby my future office to avoid daily life risk and health risk. ( Sometimes it's suffocating because of 1:20 space:people ratio and I feel like I am going to faint )

Haha, this was my story few years ago. Being a middle class bengali of Kolkata, I used to board a lot of public transport (trains, public bus, private bus, AC bus) but the situation had never been smooth even a single day. Right now, being a remote working professional, I can at least avoid them altogether at the expense of more workload though.

Yes anything to avoid public transport in Kolkata or anywhere in India(situation is the same because of the burgeoning population)

They don’t allow overcrowding like that in trains here, but I can imagine how troublesome it would be if they would. I don’t use public transport to get around where I am. The bus stop alone is 8 miles away from where I live. My car isn’t fancy, but I’m thankful to have it.

Oh I see. Actually it's because of the increasing population.
