May look illogical but everything a human being does has an effect on climate change. The amount of water each one uses, the quantity of fuel one uses, the list is endless. Assuming that we all agree that the climate change is the work of an individual there is lots we can do if each of us took care to see that we do not waste natural resources. The mega role of an individual in every sphere needs a second look. Why take hours and sometimes days to cook a dish when there are many ways that can produce tasty dishes? Nihari is an Indian dish that takes around 4 hours to be ready - a meat dish that needs slow cooking Here is more on Nihari Is there a dish that you make that takes hours to cook?
Nihari Gosht Recipe - About Nihari Gosht Recipe: From the royal kitchens of the Mughals, Nihari Gosht is a traditional Muslim dish that has slowly took over taste buds of people across the borders. Nihari is a authentic dish which means a slow cooked mutto

No, I have not made anything that took that long to cook. I think my grandmother may have, but my mom didn’t have the time, and I just won’t put that much time into a dish. I probably miss out on some wonderful dishes, but I think because I didn’t see it growing up, I don’t have any inclination to do it now. Plus, you make a good point here about that.

At the end of the day it is in our hands to take care of climate change with billions playing their role.

Funnily enough I have just got the slow cooker out today, to cook gammon and vegetables. Cooking takes a long time but it uses only a little power, and we have solar PV panels so I'm hoping that they might produce enough electricity this summer's day to cover what we use.

This is just a tip of the ice berg. Each of us have countless avenues to save the planet.

@Fleura When I say save the planet it means it is not fit to live in it and yes we are the cause of it.

@allknowing We're not saving the planet - the planet isn't going anywhere. We humans (and other species) are the ones who are in a big mess.

Beef does take long to cook. May be you can use a pressure cooker?
