Singer Tony Bennett, a long-lived singer who loved classic American songs, has died at age 96. He was a couple weeks shy of his 97th birthday. His career spanned 7 decades. He was suffering from Alzheimer’s and until 2021 still performed, which kept him active but often couldn’t that he had just performed. His long term memory was fine though. He adopted San Francisco as his city above a violinist performs a tribute to Bennett in front of a 7 foot statue of him in San Francisco.

Yes he was and he loved doing it. It was a tradition for him to perform when the Giants won.

I read that he won twenty Grammy awards during his career. That’s astonishing. We’ll never see the likes of his remarkable talent, longevity, or popularity again!

He loved his occupation. He said he was inspired by his mother to go into performing.
