Known as Vaporetto the only transport in Venice for tourists are water buses. When we landed from Switzerland we had to take the water bus to reach our hotel. Nowhere in the world will you see over hundred islands, 150 plus canals and over 400 bridges connecting these islands. It is reported that the city is sinking as it is built on water with heavy buildings adding to this phenomenon and also because of the climate change which is experienced the world over. Venice is a pretty place to visit and it is hoped that architects see to it the city remains and survives. Would you like to add anything more that you know of Venice? Image credit:

Venice is beautiful, but I wouldn't like to live there.

You are right. It is beautiful for tourists but not for living

I have heard it smells bad due to the decaying buildings.

The canals smell bad and we did not choose to go on that canal ride because of that.

Venice is indeed romanticized since ages. But commuting is a deal-breaker ig. I mean for tourists it's fun. But for locals....they must be fed up

There are limited islands where there are roads where they can use taxis and cars.
