In your house, who do the kids listen to father or mother?

In our house, all my husband has to do is look at them and they a good. But me, I can yet till I'm blue in the face. And they laugh at me.

Oh, that's horrible. Your children should respect you both. Maybe you need to give a meaner look. LOL! It's only me. I'm a single parent of three. At times they laugh at me or cuss me out, but let me tell ya, they sure as heck regret it later. Bye bye play station, bye bye computer, bye bye telephone. =)

In my house we always listened to both parents, I think it's a respect thing. My dad is scarier when he's angry but we just did as we were told. I know my aunt is in a similar situation to yourself. She is a stay at home mum and the kids (the 2 boys mostly) would never pay her any heed, but they always listen to my uncle. I think it's because he has a 'don't mess with me' air about him!

My son listens to his dad, with me it goes in one ear and out the other. Dad doesn't get into things much but when he does, he listens.

Since I'm more involved in their lives, I'm the one that they see as a pushover. Their dad, on the other hand, can say "do it" and they do. I think its more because they see me as their friend and confidant. Dad is cut and dry on everything. And insists its done his way and he's always right.

I know exactly what you mean. There are times when I lie to my kids and tell them that daddy is on his way home and if they arre still doing __________ they will be in big trouble. This will usally stop them. When my husband is home all he has to to do is give them the look and they started acting right. It makes me so bad sometimes.

I am the one home with them all week. Dad is only home on Saturday and Sunday. My daughter listens to use both and my son pushes it with both of us. He doesn't really listen to either one of us more then the other.
